Cummins on the hunt for oldest trucks

Cummins is looking for the oldest surviving trucks or buses powered by its Darlington-built engines to show at a commerative event. The Darlington engine plant celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and Cummins is planning a celebration on 11 July.

The earliest ones are likely to be from the ‘small vee’ range, such as the 7.7-litre V8 used in some Ford D-series trucks. Production of the iconic B-series started in 1986, followed by C-series in 1989, and then the ISBe in 2000.
